Hiking and Trails around Sorrento

The Sorrento peninsula and the Lattari mountains offer a dense network of panoramic trails, from easy routes among the citrus groves to demanding hikes with views over both gulfs (Naples and Salerno). Here’s how to get your bearings and which maps to download before you set off.

The waymarked routes (Tolomeo Project)

The Municipality of Sorrento, together with Massa Lubrense and Sant’Agnello, has mapped and waymarked a series of walking routes (the Tolomeo project, curated by Giovanni Visetti). The main ones:

• Path of the Gods (Sentiero degli Dei) The famous high-level path above the Amalfi Coast, from Bomerano (Agerola) to Nocelle, near Positano.
• Valle delle Ferriere A lush nature reserve of waterfalls and rare ferns in the hills above Amalfi.
• Punta Campanella and San Costanzo The very tip of the peninsula, facing Capri, with views over both the Naples and Salerno gulfs.
